Federal Changes to Affect Complete and Complete Plus Plans
One-time offer to extend coverage through December 2026
The Biden Administration proposed a rule that will change new limited duration insurance policies such as our Complete and Complete Plus plans.
Today, these policies may be in effect for up to 364 days with a single term policy or three years with a renewable term plan. If finalized, the proposed rule will limit new limited duration plans to be in effect for no more than three months, or a maximum of four months, if extended. This change does not affect policies currently in place.
What are your options?
Reapply for a renewable term policy: From October 1, 2023 through December 1, 2023, we’re offering current Complete and Complete Plus members a one-time opportunity to reapply for a renewable term policy. If accepted, your coverage would begin January 1, 2024 and extend through December 2026. If your new application is not approved, or you miss the deadline or choose not to reapply, your current policy and end date remain the same.

Enroll in an ACA plan: You can wait until the upcoming Open Enrollment Period (OEP) from November 1, 2023 to January 15, 2024 to enroll in a 2024 Affordable Care Act (ACA) plan. Our ACA plans cover all essential health benefit categories required by the healthcare law and you can’t be turned down for pre-existing conditions.
For coverage beginning January 1, you must enroll by December 15. Remember: once your current Complete or Complete Plus plan ends, losing your coverage will not give you a qualifying life event to apply for an ACA plan; you would have to wait until the next OEP to enroll.

This coverage is not required to comply with certain market requirements for health insurance, principally those contained in the Affordable Care Act. Be sure to check your policy carefully to make sure you are aware of any exclusions or limitations regarding coverage of preexisting conditions or health benefits (such as hospitalization, emergency services, maternity care, preventive care, prescription drugs, and mental health and substance use disorder services). Your policy might also have lifetime and/or annual dollar limits on health benefits. If this coverage expires or you lose eligibility for this coverage, you might have to wait until an open enrollment period to get other health insurance coverage.
