Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield named among the state’s ‘Best Places to Work’
Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is excited to be recognized by Arkansas Business Publishing Group as one of the state’s best places to work. This is the ninth year the company has been named as an honoree.
Founded in 1948, Arkansas Blue Cross has more than 3,300 employees providing service to more than 2 million members nationwide.
“Our goal at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is to take good care of our members, and that means also taking good care of our team. They are essential in providing excellent service and assistance to Arkansans when they need us most,” said Arkansas Blue Cross President and CEO Curtis Barnett.
The annual list is based on anonymous employee surveys regarding leadership and planning, corporate culture and communication, employee relationships with supervisors, as well as pay and benefits.
“We are proud our employees see Arkansas Blue Cross as a great place to work,” said Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Odell Nickelberry. “They have helped build the organization to what it is today through innovation, teamwork, their creativity and dedication.”
Headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas Blue Cross also operates out of its Northwest Arkansas Corporate Center in Springdale and seven ArkansasBlue Welcome Centers located around the state. The Welcome Centers serve as retail locations where members and prospective members can meet face-to-face with insurance experts to get information about plans, claims and how best to manage their care. Welcome Centers are located in Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Hot Springs, Jonesboro, Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Rogers.
Earlier this year, Arkansas Blue Cross was also named one of America’s Best Mid-Size Employers, one of the country’s Best Employers for New College Grads and Best Employers for Women by Forbes magazine.
