Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield named among the state’s Best Places to Work

Arkansas Business Monday named Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield among its 2023 list of Best Places to Work.

Arkansas Business Publishing Group has been conducting the survey since 2014, polling employees around the state about leadership at their workplace, communication, pay and culture.

“What employees value in a workplace has changed greatly over the past several years, and we work diligently to stay in tune with our employees’ needs,” said Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield President and CEO Curtis Barnett. “Like many employers, we’ve taken a hard look at ensuring a good work-life balance for our team, providing incentives for their hard work, creating a culture of diversity and engagement, and providing benefits our team members value.”

Arkansas Blue Cross has more than 3,300 employees and locations across Arkansas, including its corporate headquarters in Little Rock and its Northwest Arkansas Corporate Center in Springdale. The company also operates eight ArkansasBlue Welcome Centers where Arkansans can speak face-to-face with representatives about their plan options or get answers to questions about claims and coverages. Welcome Centers are located in Little Rock, Hot Springs, Pine Bluff, Fort Smith, Rogers, Fayetteville, Jonesboro and Texarkana.

“Our team makes a difference in the lives of Arkansans every day, many times during a critical time of need,” said Vice President of Human Resources Odell Nickelberry. “We strive to be a place where they can thrive and grow.”

This year, Arkansas Blue Cross will celebrate 75 years of serving individuals and businesses in Arkansas. Founded in 1948, it is a not-for-profit mutual insurance company. The company has also been named to Forbes magazine’s 2023 list of Best Midsized Employers in the country and its 2022 list of Best Employers for Women.
