There is no “one size fits all” to Medicare plans. Your plan selection may be different from your spouse and your friends because your coverage decisions should depend on your personal health needs and preferences.

After you make your Medicare plan selection during Initial Enrollment, it’s important to know that you can change your Medicare coverage over time. It’s a good idea to revisit your plan each year to decide if it is still the right fit. As your life changes, your Medicare plan might need to change also. The Annual Enrollment Period is your opportunity to review your coverage and decide if it’s time to switch plans.

Annual Enrollment Period

During this period you can keep your existing Part C or Part D, if it’s still available, or sign up for a new plan that better fits your needs. Annual Enrollment occurs October 15 - December 7 for everyone enrolled in Medicare. Your new coverage will begin January 1.

Whether you are enrolling for the first time or reviewing your coverage to determine if it’s time to make a change, you should use the Annual Enrollment Period to consider your needs and options so you get the best coverage for you.
