Kathy Ryan
Biography
Kathy Ryan is responsible for the strategic direction of information systems, system infrastructure and technology management for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and its affiliates, BlueAdvantage Administrators of Arkansas and Health Advantage. She also ensures these areas are compliant with government regulations and provide timely delivery of information to the private marketplace in Arkansas and to national accounts throughout the United States. Ryan joined Arkansas Blue Cross in 1982 as senior programmer for Medicare Part B Systems and was later promoted to director. She became manager of Information Systems for Health Advantage in 1995 and was promoted to director of Operations for Health Advantage in 2004. In 2006, she became vice president of Operations, which included responsibility for all aspects of customer service, claims, information systems and customer accounts. A native of Tallahassee, Fla., Ryan received her bachelor's degree in biochemistry at Queens University of Charlotte and is a graduate of America's Health Insurance Plans Foundation's Executive Leadership Program. Ryan is a board member for the Arkansas Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and has served as a volunteer for numerous charitable organizations.
