David Bridges
Executive Vice President, Internal Operations and Chief Administrative Officer
David Bridges has executive responsibility for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and its family of affiliated companies' Internal Administrative Operations, Human Resources, Information Systems and Technology. He joined Arkansas Blue Cross in 1974 as a management trainee and later that year was named supervisor in Customer Accounts; he was named Manager of Customer Accounts in 1978. In 1984, Bridges became executive director of HMO Arkansas, in 1988 was promoted to vice president of Professional Services and in 1994 was involved in the merger of HMO Arkansas and Health Advantage. He was promoted to the position of CEO of Health Advantage and central region executive in 1997. He was named senior vice president of Customer Services including BlueAdvantage and Arkansas Blue Cross Internal Operations in 2002 while maintaining his role as CEO of Health Advantage. Bridges was promoted to executive vice president of Internal Operations for Arkansas Blue Cross in 2006 and continued to serve as CEO of Health Advantage until promoted to his current position of chief administrative officer in 2014. A native of Fort Smith, Bridges received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. He also attended the Excellence in Customer Service program at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Bridges is a member of the Kiwanis Club of downtown Little Rock, serves on the Quapaw Area Council Executive Board for Boy Scouts of America and on the Diocesan Finance Council.
