Martha Carlson promoted to vice president of National Accounts and the Federal Employee Program for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield

Little Rock, Ark. (March 20, 2014) — Martha Carlson has been promoted to vice president of National Accounts and the Federal Employee Program (FEP) for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, according to Jim Bailey, chief marketing officer for Arkansas Blue Cross.

Carlson will be responsible for the development and servicing of national business for Arkansas Blue Cross. Since 2007, she has been responsible for leading the regional sales and service team in the West Central region in Fort Smith. She worked with communities and business leaders, health care providers and health care organizations to improve customer satisfaction and control the health care cost. The West Central team serves Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Sebastian, Logan, Scott and Polk counties.

Before joining Arkansas Blue Cross, Carlson served as chief financial officer for Triad Hospitals, Inc. in Florida and Texas. She also previously served as the chief financial officer for Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.

A native of Sheridan, Carlson earned her degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she was honored in 2013 during the Alumni Awards for Achievement and Merit. She earned a master’s degree in business administration from Florida State University. She has been a certified public accountant since 1991.
