Little Rock, Ark. (August 20, 2013) — Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield invites its members to make memories at Grandparent’s Day at the Museum of Discovery. If you carry an Arkansas Blue Cross, Health Advantage or BlueAdvantage Administrators of Arkansas health plan ID card, you can show it at the door of the museum from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, and enjoy free admission and family-friendly activities.
If you don’t have Arkansas Blue Cross insurance, you may stop by an ArkansasBlue retail store to pick up free tickets while supplies last. ArkansasBlue retail stores are located in Little Rock, in the Shackleford Crossings shopping center; and in Pine Bluff, across from Walmart on Highway 63.
During Grandparent’s Day kids of all ages can enjoy some family fun, register for prizes and participate in a storyboard contest. In the Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield Amazing You Gallery, kids and grandparents can join in the “what makes you tick” activity. Families can enjoy a healthy snack in the GigaBite room, and have their picture made with BlueAnn Ewe, Arkansas Blue Cross’ health ambassador. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the day; registrants do not need to be present to win.
“Grandparent’s Day is a great opportunity for our members to nurture the grandparent- grandchild relationship by making memories together and learning about the importance of keeping their bodies healthy at all ages,” said Karen Raley, vice president of Communications and Product Development. “Helping families stay healthy is part
of our mission at Arkansas Blue Cross, and this event is a fun, interactive way to learn about how building healthy habits into your lifestyle helps keep you ‘amazing.’ As a grandparent myself, I love any excuse to spend the day with my precious granddaughter.”
