Little Rock, Ark. (July 21, 2011) — Members of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and its family of companies now can use their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to find a doctor or hospital in the state or throughout the nation using a free mobile application.
With the Blue National Doctor & Hospital Finder app, Arkansas Blue Cross members can quickly find in-network doctors and hospitals. The app also features map links, e-mail, texting and “click-to-call,” which allows you to dial a phone number with one tap on the phone’s screen.
“This mobile app is one more way we are working to meet the needs of our members, whether they are looking for information about physicians and hospitals in their local community or anywhere in the country,” said Mark White, president and chief executive officer of Arkansas Blue Cross. “We are excited about the advances we have made in social networking and we will continue to use new technologies to make interacting with us easier and more convenient for our customers.”
The free app is available at the online Apple store at apple.com. There is no charge to download the application, but wireless service rates may apply
