LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 6, 2011) — New mothers, and even more experienced ones, need all the support and advice they can get, which is why Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield has created a virtual neighborhood focused on moms.
Mother Hood, an online community on Facebook, Twitter and our Web site, arkansasbluecross.com, allows moms to connect with other moms, read useful articles or helpful tips, access information about consignment sales or stroller-friendly walks, and find quick links to discounts and resources. The site (cared for by Arkansas Blue Cross) focuses on moms, but everyone (dads, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles …) is welcome. Whether their children are in diapers or name-brand denim, Mother Hood is for moms with kids of all ages and stages in life.
To kick off the virtual “open house” for Mother Hood, from October 1 through November 30, people who “like” Mother Hood on Facebook will have the chance to win one of two $100 Target gift cards. All they have to do is select the “like” button and submit their e-mail address to win. Winners will be announced in December — just in time for the holidays.
“Mother Hood is our way of reaching out to moms who would like a one-stop resource for parenting information. As a good corporate citizen, our goal with Mother Hood is simply to encourage connections and sharing between moms as well as offer health information and tips from the best possible resources,” said Karen Raley, vice president of Communications and Product Development, as well as a mother and grandmother
