Little Rock, Ark. (May 15, 2012) — Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield invites
members to Dance and Discover at the Museum of Discovery. If you carry an Arkansas
Blue Cross, Health Advantage or BlueAdvantage Administrators of Arkansas health plan
ID card, you can show it at the door of the Museum on Saturday, June 9, and enjoy
free admission to the Museum and a family-friendly Dance and Discover party featuring
Radio Disney from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Dance and Discover Party is a health-and-fitness event designed for children ages
3-12, although kids of all ages are welcome. Kids can decorate their own “hip hop” hat,
and have a blast with Radio Disney as they turn up the music and get kids moving …
Disney style.
In the Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield Amazing You Gallery, kids and parents
can not only explore, but participate in a “Dance and Discover” activity focused on
staying healthy. Kids can enjoy a healthy snack in the GigaBite room, register for door
prizes, and have their picture made with BlueAnn Ewe, Arkansas Blue Cross’ health
ambassador.
“At Arkansas Blue Cross, we know it is important to begin educating kids on good
health habits early,” said Karen Raley, vice president of Communications. “Dance and Discover is an opportunity for our members to engage their children in learning more about
how their bodies work and how to keep them functioning properly. Helping families stay
healthy is part of our mission and this event is a fun, interactive way to learn about how
building healthy habits into your lifestyle helps keep you ‘amazing.’”
“Health science is an important component to the Museum, as it is one of our permanent
galleries,” said Nan Selz, executive director for the Museum of Discovery. “We invite
visitors to discover how the human body works and how choices for a healthy, active
lifestyle keep their bodies running better,” she added.
Members simply show their health plan ID card (Arkansas Blue Cross, Health Advantage or
BlueAdvantage) at the door of the Museum of Discovery, sign in and enjoy free admission
to the Museum on June 9. A health plan ID card from Arkansas Blue Cross, Health
Advantage or BlueAdvantage is needed for each adult to receive free admission.
Dance and Discover activities are free and will be held from 11 a.m until 2 p.m.; crafts
and snacks are available while supplies last. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the
Dance and Discover Party; registrants do not need to be present to win.
Mark your calendars now to join other Arkansas Blue Cross members on June 9 at the
Museum of Discovery!
