How does it work?

How it works:

The size of your household and how much money your household earns determines whether you get free or very low cost health insurance.

You will qualify for free or low-cost health insurance if you are at or below the following weekly or yearly incomes.

Note: If you earn minimum wage and work 50 weeks per year, 40 hours per week you earn $14,500.

*Free or low-cost health insurance depends on the health plan you choose.

Here are a few examples:

You're single and make minimum wage, which is less than $15,282 a year or $300 per week. You’ll qualify for free coverage.

You and your spouse have 2 children and together make at or less than $31,322 per year or $625 per week. You will qualify for free coverage.

You are single and have 2 children and you make at or less than $39,060 per year or $780 per week, you may still qualify for free coverage depending on the plan you do choose.

*Free or low-cost health insurance depends on the health plan you choose.

Enrolling will be simple and easy.
Beginning October 1, 2013, you will be able to purchase insurance that goes into effect as early as January 1, 2014. In the meantime, you can learn more by calling us at 1-855-625-0451 (M - F, 8 am - 5 pm).

Arkansans without insurance face barriers in accessing quality health care and necessary medications. Nearly 45,000 Americans die each year because they don't have health insurance. Without health insurance, it's hard to find a doctor and even harder to pay for prescriptions.

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield has proudly partnered with Goodwill® Industries of Arkansas to help educate Arkansans about the new health care law and help them enroll in free or low-cost plans as a way to improve the lives of Arkansans.

Through this partnership between, Arkansans will be able to enroll in free or low-cost health insurance plans or simply learn what the new health care law means for them while shopping for bargains at Goodwill retail locations throughout the state.
