Bringing tomorrow's health care model to Arkansas today

If you want to know what the future of health care looks like, the answer is right here in Arkansas.

Our state is now one of only seven markets in the United States chosen to participate in a Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) initiative that’s funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Innovation Center. The national CPC project is focused on helping primary care practices transform into patient-centered medical homes (PCMH), as well as to redesign payment models.

The state was selected to participate following a successful PCMH pilot involving five Arkansas practices. All five clinics received national recognition and demonstrated the potential of managed care. There are 66 Arkansas clinics involved in the CPC project to improve the health of Arkansans, improve the patient experience of care, and lower the cost of care.

Arkansas Blue Cross is leading the way every day to give members an early advantage. If successful, the CPC initiative will redefine the primary care model in Arkansas, and perhaps the country!
