Curtis Barnett
President and Chief Executive Officer

Curtis Barnett joined Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a Primary Care Network plan manager in 1993. He has served in a variety of capacities, including manager of Product Development and director of the Enterprise Managed Pharmacy Program. He assumed responsibility for the operations of BlueAdvantage in 1999. He has served as president and chief executive officer and as a member of the board of directors of USAble Corporation since 2008. Prior to being appointed as the president and chief executive of Arkansas Blue Cross in January of 2017, Barnett served as senior vice president of Enterprise Internal Operations where he was responsible for all aspects of operations, including claims administration, customer accounts, customer service, membership, service management, system configuration, and training and development for the company and its affiliates.

A native of Sherwood, Barnett received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas and is a graduate of the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management’s Advanced Executive Program. He also has earned several professional designations, including the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and the Professional in the Academy of Healthcare Management (PAHM). He is involved with a number of civic and charitable organizations, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Arkansas.
