Martha Carlson
Vice President, National Accounts and FEP Marketing
Martha Carlson is responsible for the profitable membership growth and retention of national account clients as well as federal and state government employer clients. She leads a highly professional account management team. In her role, Martha is responsible for the majority of the company's largest, most prestigious, highly visible and most demanding accounts. This job has the direct responsibility for clients totaling over sixty percent of the company's membership. From 2007 until her current position, she served as the leader for the regional sales and service team in west central Arkansas. Prior to joining Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, she served as a chief financial officer for hospitals in Florida, Texas and Arkansas. Martha recently completed the Advanced Management Program at Columbia University in New York. She holds an MBA from Florida State University, and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where she received a distinguished alumni award in 2013. Martha has held a CPA (certified public accountant) license since 1991 and has been a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association since 1991. Martha currently serves as a board member for the National Labor Office of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and Junior Achievement of Arkansas.
