Job Summary
This position is accountable for enrollment and facilitation of all AHIN Professional Services products available to health care professionals. This position will coordinate and facilitate services for electronic medical records, practice management software, electronic clearinghouse claims, as well as other services offered by AHIN Professional Services.

Nature & Scope
This position reports to the Manager of Health Information Technology.

This incumbent is responsible for conducting practice assessments to determine products and/or services needed by health care professionals. This incumbent will work with other AHIN Professional Services staff to facilitate the project management associated with the implementation of electronic medical record software, practice management software, electronic claims, and other professional services.

This position is responsible for helping to plan, organize, and design proper controls to manage varied projects. Additionally, this position is guided by the needs and inputs of marketing efforts in the provider community for varied services offered by AHIN Professional Services.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

1. Requires a thorough knowledge of computer system development processes.
2. Requires a complete understanding of ANSI X12 837 electronic claim transaction including where different types of information is found within the claim.
3. Requires a working knowledge of the workflow within provider offices, both hospital and physician.
4. Requires an understanding of electronic health record systems and practice management systems and how they are used by providers.
5. Requires a complete understanding of HIPAA and similar regulations governing the privacy and security of health records.
6. Requires excellent communication skills.
7. Requires public speaking ability in order to make presentations to providers, provider office staff as well as other Blue plans around the country.




Minimum Job Requirements

To perform the function of Practice Solution Analyst, the following specific knowledge, skills, abilities, experience and education is required:

1. Bachelors degree from an accredited institution (Marketing or Health Information preferred)

2. Experience in electronic medical records/practice management implementation

3. Training and/or facilitation of provider related software

4. Successful applicant must demonstrate an interest in and aptitude for sales/marketing

5. Extensive experience with Meaningful Use Requirements required.

6. Excellent interpersonal skills

7. Travel required (some over night) Valid state driver's license and good driving record must meet requirements of company policy.

8. Clinic management may be substituted for degree


Security Requirements
This position is identified as level three (3). This position must ensure the security and confidentiality of records and information to prevent substantial harm, embarrassment, inconvenience, or unfairness to any individual on whom information is maintained. The integrity of information must be maintained as outlined in the company Administrative Manual.

Segregation of Duties
Segregation of duties will be used to ensure that errors or irregularities are prevented or detected on a timely basis by employees in the normal course of business. This position must adhere to the segregation of duties guidelines in the Administrative Manual.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES OR ACCOUNTABILITIES (Essential Functions of Job)
1. Represent AHIN Professional Services menu of services to providers and hospitals.
2. Present EHR/EMR and Practice management software in demo setting to provider and hospitals.
3. Promote, plan, and participate in education meetings with providers regarding services offered by AHIN Professional Services.
4. Implement and train providers on EMR/EHR and PMS software and other related software.
5. Assure compliance with government regulations regarding Meaningful Use.
6. Assist in development of marketing and training materials.
7. Maintain knowledge of regulations and requirements for providers by leaders in Health IT.
8. Maintain relationship with Network Development Staff to ensure their knowledge of AHIN Professional Services menu of options.
9. Maintain documents submitted to provider newsletters and other marketing materials.
10. Maintains appropriate contacts with and membership in community and health care industry organizations.
11. Timely completes reports and/or spreadsheets for project management.
12. Ability to speak correctly and in a professional manner before small or large groups of professionals.
13. Ability to assist providers in a broad range of issues regarding claims and practice management.
