Job Summary
This position is accountable for the development and maintenance of software applications and/or programs as it relates to the AMISYS Advance application and surround code.  This position is also accountable for assisting in the testing and installation of AMISYS Advance releases provided by Amisys Synertech, Inc (ASI).

Nature & Scope
This position reports to a Project Supervisor within Information Systems. The Programmer performs the majority of his/her assigned tasks in a project team environment with direct supervision from the project supervisor or senior member of the project team. Most job activities are performed in the realm of small systems, subsystems, or programs, and their general relationship to the project or system. Assignments include data gathering, program logic development, coding, testing, documentation and various other tasks to assist project team members.  The incumbent works closely with Amisys Synertech, Inc, and software vendors, members of the AMISYS configuration team and systems staff, data warehouse staff, other Enterprise wide technical staff, as well as the internal and external users to ensure user/customer requests, problems and questions are researched and resolved in a timely manner.
Communication

The incumbent must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written to ensure that a productive and cooperative climate is maintained with all customers of the AMISYS system and various vendors.

Minimum Job Requirements
Application systems programming includes performance in the areas of analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation of system projects.

Level 1
1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 semester hours in computer and/or analytical related studies (pref. degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.)
or
Prior experience with emphasis in the areas of Cobol, Java, Unix and/or Oracle

2. Preference will be given to individuals with the following: Cobol, Java, Unix and/or Oracle knowledge. Knowledge may be gained through classroom instruction and/or experience.

Level 2
Internal applicants
Must have successfully completed the Enterprise Programmer training program

External applicants
1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 semester hours in computer and/or analytical related studies (pref. degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.) and prior experience in Applications Systems Programming Design and Analysis with emphasis in the areas of Cobol, Java, Unix and/or Oracle
or

2. Must provide documentation from previous employer to demonstrate commendable performance in current job.

Level 3

5. Become familiar with the AMISYS Advance application and operational usage of the application.

8. Contribute to and support the Enterprise strategic and operational planning process to include total quality management philosophies.
