Job Summary
This position is accountable for the analysis, development and maintenance of software applications and/or programs as it relates to the AMISYS Advance application and surround code.  The incumbent is expected to make recommendations of workable solutions to processing problems.  All deliverables should be timely and cost effective.  This position is also accountable for assisting in the testing and installation of AMISYS Advance releases provided by Amisys Synertech, Inc (ASI).

Nature & Scope
This position reports to a Project Supervisor within Health Advantage Information Systems. The incumbent works closely with Amisys Synertech, Inc, and software vendors, members of the Information systems configuration team and systems staff, data warehouse staff, other Enterprise wide technical staff, as well as the internal and external users to ensure user/customer requests, problems, and questions are researched and resolved in a timely manner.  An individual in this position is able to formulate logical statements of business problems and devise effective solutions to these problems through the use of proposed manual procedures, an existing automated system or a proposed automated system.   Assignments include analysis, data gathering, program logic development, coding, testing, documentation and various other tasks as requested by the project supervisor.  
Communication

The incumbent must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written to ensure that a productive and cooperative climate is maintained with all customers of the AMISYS system and various vendors.

Minimum Job Requirements
Application systems programming includes performance in the areas of analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation of system projects.

Level 1
1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university (pref. degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.) and prior experience in Applications Systems Programming Design and Analysis with emphasis in the areas of Cobol, Java, Unix, mainframe and/or Oracle

2. Experience with the AMISYS system. Related application programming experience in a mainframe or Unix environment may be substituted.

Level 2

1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university (pref. degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.) and prior experience in Applications Systems Programming Design and Analysis with emphasis in the areas of Cobol, Java, Unix, mainframe and/or Oracle

2. Experience with the AMISYS system. Related application programming experience in a mainframe or Unix environment may be substituted.

3. Experience with SQL/PLSQL. Related database access methods may be substituted.

4. Experience with HIPAA transactions (e.g. ANSI-837, ANSI-835, ANSI-834) or industry standard transactions and/or regulations based on the industry experience.

Level 3

1. Bachelors Degree and prior experience in Applications Systems Programming Design and Analysis with emphasis in the areas of Cobol, Java, Unix, mainframe and/or Oracle

2. Experience with the AMISYS system. Related application programming experience in a mainframe or Unix environment may be substituted. Health insurance experience will be given preference.

3. Experience with HIPAA transactions (e.g. ANSI-837, ANSI-835, ANSI-834) or industry standard transactions and/or regulations based on the industry experience.

4. Experience with SQL/PLSQL. Related database access methods may be substituted.

5. Must have participated in a minimum of 3 large scale projects with heavy user interfacing. Successful completion of the projects (e.g. implementation, problem resolution and user satisfaction) must be shown
