Job Summary
This position is responsible for business process improvement analysis specific to the demonstration, sales, implementation, testing, training and use of PBSI’s POWER system.  The incumbent will work with other POWER Business Analysts (BA), POWER System Technicians, and POWER management and marketing staff to ensure that each POWER implementation experience exceeds the client’s expectations.

Nature & Scope
Level I
The incumbent may serve in a variety of environments depending on the status of the current project.  The types of environments along with the primary responsibilities of the incumbent in each environment are listed below:
An environment where POWER is being marketed to a new client -
Incumbent, with assistance from other POWER team members, will assist with analysis of potential client’s business processes, participate and/or lead product demonstrations, contribute to proposal writing and oral client presentations.
An environment where POWER has been sold to a new client and is being installed and configured for the first time –
Incumbent, with assistance from other POWER team members, will perform detailed analysis of the workflow(s) targeted for POWER, provide workflow improvement suggestions to client, and define final workflow(s) in terms of documents, queues, flow, security, etc. for client approval.  
Incumbent, with assistance from other POWER team members, will configure POWER to implement finalized workflow design.
Incumbent will assist client staff with workflow testing and finalization.
Incumbent will provide and/or assist with the provision of client user training.
An environment where POWER is already installed and operational  -
Incumbent will provide assistance to client as needed for revising workflows, adding users, and other POWER configuration modification efforts.

Level II
An environment where POWER is being marketed to a new client -

Incumbent will configure POWER to implement finalized workflow design.
Incumbent will assist client staff with workflow testing and finalization.
Incumbent will provide and/or assist with the provision of client user training.

Incumbent will provide assistance to client as needed for revising workflows, adding users, and other POWER configuration modification efforts.
This position reports directly to the Manager POWER Development.  An individual in this position must:

Level I
Be able to work on his/her own, with specific direction, while performing system testing and problem analysis and set up;  
Be able to assist in the formulation of logical statements of adjudication problems and help devise effective solutions to these problems;
Possess knowledge of the capabilities of the POWER system, and possess the ability to become knowledgeable of every aspect and functionality of it.
Possess the ability, with assistance from more experienced POWER staff, to interpret user requests and write program requirement documentation or workflow requirements and implementation.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in order to communicate daily with other POWER team members in the execution of his/her duties.

Level II
Be able to work on his/her own, with only general direction, while performing system testing and problem analysis and set up;  
Be able to formulate logical statements of adjudication problems and devise effective solutions to these problems;
Possess a detailed knowledge of all aspects and capabilities of the POWER system.
Possess the ability to interpret user requests and write program requirement documentation or workflow requirements and implementation.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in order to communicate daily with clients, potential clients, Business Function Experts, and other POWER team members in the execution of his/her duties.

Minimum Job Requirements

Level I

Must possess:

Bachelors degree in an IT related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc), and  business/technical analyst experience in an Information Technology (IT) environment.

-OR-

Experience as a Business/Technical Analyst in an Information Technology (IT) environment. 

Hands on experience using POWER is preferred.

Business/Technical experience configuring workflow systems is preferred,

Level II

Must possess:

Experience as a POWER Business Analyst I

Demonstrated experience presenting (demo) the POWER system to both internal and external customers

Above average interpersonal skills

Must pass a sample POWER simulation test based on the required knowledge for the position


Security Requirements
This position is identified as level three (3). This position must ensure the security and confidentiality of records and information to prevent substantial harm, embarrassment, inconvenience, or unfairness to any individual on whom information is maintained. The integrity of information must be maintained as outlined in the company Administrative Manual.

Segregation of Duties
Segregation of duties will be used to ensure that errors or irregularities are prevented or detected on a timely basis by employees in the normal course of business. This position must adhere to the segregation of duties guidelines in the Administrative Manual.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES OR ACCOUNTABILITIES (Essential Functions of Job)
1. Prepare comprehensive test data and expected results to support the testing of modifications to the POWER System.
2. Run system tests of such data under direction of the supervisor/manager.
3. Review all output of those test and verify the results against expectations. Document and explain any variances.
4. Assist the technical staff in analyzing and researching reported systems problems.
5. Ensure that the supervisor/manager is adequately informed concerning the status of all assigned tasks.
6. Ensure that a cooperative and productive climate is maintained with all customer and inter-divisional contacts.
7. Assist in the identification and documentation of system modifications necessary to meet the processing needs of the system. (Level 1)
8. Identify and document system modifications necessary to meet the processing needs of the system. (Level II)
9. Complete basic system set up in POWER. (Level I)
10. Complete system set up in POWER. (Level II)
11. Assist in the preparation of POWER user documentation. (Level I)
12. Provide user training and demonstrations for POWER users and potential users. (Level II)
13. Prepare user documentation for general system use. (Level II)
14. Assist in conference calls with user staff to discuss concerns/problems and propose system changes.
15. Coordinate/conduct on-site visits as required to assist new users of POWER. (Level II)
16. Assist in the preparation of Activity, Progress and Status reports as required. (Level I)
17. Prepare Activity, Progress and Status reports as required. (Level II)
18. Support the achievements of the Management Performance Standards for the division.
19. Keep the POWER management team apprised of changes and/or modifications that might require training or special guidelines. (Level I)
20. Keep POWER users apprised of changes and/or modifications that might require training or special guidelines. (Level II)
21. Interpret POWER user requests and write business requirements, and assist in their implementation. (Level I)
22. Interpret POWER user requests and write business requirements and/or implementation. (Level II)
23. Perform various activities and special projects as directed by supervisor/management.

Travel

Level I
The incumbent may from time to time attend and participate in meetings, training, demonstrations, and on-site project activities at locations throughout the country.

Level II
The incumbent regularly attends and participates in meetings, training, demonstrations, and on-site project activities at locations throughout the country.
