Prescription Medication Replacement for Storm Victims

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield will replace prescription medications free of charge for Arkansans whose medications were lost as a result of the devastating weather events on April 27, 2014.

The waiver is in effect for members who have a pharmacy benefit plan insured by Arkansas Blue Cross, including insured members of Health Advantage and the Federal Employee Program.

Members living in areas identified by the American Red Cross (Faulkner, Pulaski and White counties), who had prescription medications lost or destroyed by the tornado on April 27, 2014, may work with their pharmacist or call Customer Service to get their prescription copayments/coinsurance waived for a refill (10-day or 30-day max supply depending on medication). The waiver will last through May 15, 2014, and applies to current prescription medications as well as any medications prescribed as a result of the storm.

Members who were affected can call Arkansas Blue Cross toll free at 1-800-238-8379, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
